• Second Inquisition Attack

A military grade drone presumably operated by the Second Inquisition opened fire on a group of Kindred in Midtown tonight, near The Collective.

It fired pellets resembling paint gun ammunition. There was a white substance inside which burned on contact, causing serious injury to the Cainites it struck. I assume it was some kind of chemical compound.

The news appears to be reporting the attack as a “war game” by the military. Given the speed of the story breaking, I assume this is a cover story put forth by the Inquisition themselves.

The Nosferatu will be remaining below ground as much as possible in the coming nights to reduce the risk of detection. Our numbers are in the Book if you need to contact us, but assume the Inquisition is reading every text you send. Be discrete in your wording.

Robbie and I were both injured and forced to partially disrobe in order to avoid being burnt further by the substance once it got on our clothes. We immediately retreated to the sewers. It’s currently unclear if we were spotted by nearby humans.

While the Inquisition is actively attacking Kindred, we need to remain underground as much as possible to avoid detection. Surface ONLY when absolutely necessary, such as to feed or visit the Book to remain up-to-date on the situation.

Be EXTREMELY careful with digital communication. Assume they are watching and reading everything. Reaching out to contacts and allies via text or the internet is only safer than visiting in person if it can be done without drawing their attention.

If you need to discuss something that might draw Inquisition attention, either with a human associate or another Kindred, consider leaving written messages at dead drops for them to collect once you’ve left the area. These are harder to intercept than digital messages and reduce the amount of time you need to risk being above ground.

Not an order, just an observation that for decades you Brujah have done this on the lowdown in some old warehouse. The Night Markets aren’t anymore secure and if you hold it there and things go bad, they will be comprised. It’s better to have it at a place we don’t mind leaving behind.

    War Games In Branton

    PLUS NEWS - INTRO – 00:11
    — Carlos Marques

Tonight the United States Air Force will be conducting a war game scenario in Branton. A drone will be flying around and shooting “enemies” with a paintball gun. The public was not made aware in advance because the panic is part of the study.

@onyx I will do that immediately. But I don’t think that was the intention.

    Thank you for your advice.

    Martin:

If you suspect this person might have installed a tracking program on their phone, for instance, if you think sone one killed him there and planted the phone on him with the express purpose of getting one of us to take that phone to their haven, you may wish to go beyond turning it off by taking out the battery.

Fair question. I’m happy to answer. But again I’m just putting an idea out there. I have no interest in stopping anyone, even if I could, from performing their activities.

I suggested that last night is associated with this because, after the events, some extra cation on secrecy should be taken into consideration. I know the area is not known for its police presence, but surely there will be a few extra patrols so the police can say they did there due diligence. Or a curious observer wanting to be in the presence of death.

As for the fight it self I think my logic is fairly straight forward.

Fights tempt frenzy. Frenzies are unpredictable. Even with precautions an individual could escape. Crashing threw walls, fleeing at inhuman speeds, killing any number of people that happen to stand in there way.

I’m sure this concept has not escaped the organizers. I’m sure they are well aware and take precautions. However, I personally believe that a %100 guarantee is not possible.

So I suggest finding a location that is ideal for this. One that could be scrapped easily in the worst-case scenario.

Orson has already displayed he is handling the event with care and consideration so I will support whatever he thinks is appropriate.
