As I told your accomplice, Cali - “it was a prank” is a bullshit excuse and unacceptable. Respect the spaces.
Felicia O’Neill. Baron.
We took what you all had to say about the Guilds versus Coteries and have decided we are going to allow the following dots in each Guild in order to even them out. The caveat is that these dots are pretty much static. Each Guild will have a set place for their “base of operations” and set amenities. The area you will control will be approximately a 1 block radius.
Each Guild will now have:
Chasse - 2
Lien - 2
Portiillion - 2
Haven Security - 2
Postern - 1
There are a couple other dots, which I will list out in each Guild forum.
We hope this will encourage you all to create coteries and spend your xps building them up. If you spent xps in your Guild already, I have returned them. If you did and you don’t see a change in your xps, let me know.
Tonight is the night. There will be no talk of Game of Thrones here, on Discord or in the OOC until everyone who watches says they have seen the episode. Not everyone can watch it “live.”
Sooo shaddup until there is an 'all clear."
Got me? Don’t make me seek you out to cut you, cuz I will. I guaran-damn-tee it.
I don’t have to chill on anything. I said “I would like it if” no one spoke of anything decided until the minutes are posted. This has nothing to do with anyone being late. It is not an order. It is a simple statement that I felt was needed given what happened in The Book. It also was not discussed prior to your arrival, Hector.
I also don’t know why my above statements need an addendum published when it is simply a matter of how meetings will be conducted. But the cat’s out of the bag now, so I will come up with something.
I’m also sorry if I made my statement at an inopportune time that somehow may have or should have delayed the publication of the minutes.
I am in stepping to remind you all of something. This Parliament was not meant to be a ruling body. Quoting from my speech at the Assembly:
“The Parliament will not rule the city in the manner of a Primogen Council. They will convene to solve problems. These problems may be things brought to them by a member of the Kindred populace or something like an attack upon us by outside forces.”
I am not against a few rules, such as the ones voted on and passed. Those TWO, count’em, TWO only, were a prohibition against Diablerie and Breaches. Two rules that frankly did not, in my opinion need to be set in stone, but as has been demonstrated by the inanity of the posting in The Book about what was passed, they were needed.
We are not to handle every problem in the city. We are to handle things brought to us or MAJOR problems such as invasion or major problems between Cainites or major breeches if we feel it is necessary. We are not to get involved in petty squabbles, we do not hand out turf, we are here to solve major problems and direct people as necessary. That’s a lot of “majors” but I am repeating it to ensure I get my point across.
We should not even be meeting unless there are problems to handle. This past meeting was to set some structure in place in regards to important rules. We accomplished that, surprisingly. But now I am stepping in to ensure the sorts of things that happen, do not happen again.
In the future, I would like to go forth with this structure:
I will chair the meetings. I will ensure that we stay on time and that the undisguised animosity that is currently present is kept to a minimum. I feel confident that no one on the Parliament has a huge problem with me and therefore has no stones to cast, knives to stick in my back, blinders on in regards to me and therefore will listen when I call for a vote. If a vote is even needed. Again, the Parliament is to handle problems presented by members of the city or due to threat from outside forces.
If I find there is ambiguity or petulance in regards to anyone’s answers I will ensure they answer clearly. I don’t care who on the board doesn’t like structure or decorum, things will be done in this manner. Everyone WILL have their say. Everyone WILL be heard. Then the vote will be called. This is not rocket science, what I am seeing is a bunch of Cainites who want to “one-up” each other.
I also would like it that no one speaks about anything discussed in the “P-fuck” (typo intentional) until the minutes are published to the population at large. If we decide, going forward, that we are going to allow people to sit in - and I REALLY advise against it right now due to how things progressed in this meeting in particular- we can not stop things being discussed, but again, as you can see by the inanity in The Book, loose lips tend to REALLY perpetuate asinine comments about dogs shitting, etc.
I put this past meeting in your hands and the animosity present among you is palpable and clouding your vision. If things go on in this manner, whenever a problem occurs, we are dead in the water, literally and figuratively. I once heard of how the city of Chicago acquired a Prince and when that Prince was taken out, the Primogen Council sat in power in the city. That council became nothing but the chaos of disciplines being used to force votes, chairs thrown, punches thrown, etc etc. A Prince had to rise up and take over, again.
I do NOT want to take over, I will dissolve this board before I do that. This is not to be seen as a threat. It is a promise. I formed this idea from an idea set forth by Yves that played off the ideas pushed for millennia by many people in our world. But it does make me wonder if this idea is viable. Call this paragraph what you will, (because I know you will) - threat, guilt trip, whatever, but I see it as me being pragmatic and attempting to put things back on track.
[22:51] * Michael the song switches over again. ((https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_2D8Eo15wE))
[22:51] * Hector whoas.
[22:52] * TeeJ watches the dancing
[22:52] * Bettie of course knows this song. There’s literally no way she couldn’t
[22:53] * Hector blinks out of his trance and looks almost alarmed as Bettie gets -down-!
[22:53] * Hector realizes there’s a whole lotta shakin’ goin’ on.
[22:54] * Diana laughs and points at Betty
[22:54] * Bettie laughs as she dances along… and then this one pops up!..
[22:54] * Michael is likely taken for a ride in this song, and is TOTALLY ok with it
[22:54] * Cassie glances over at Bettie, expression puzzled.
I think when we too readily rely on Anarchism in the mortal sense, it encourages everyone to act like all government is oppression, anything but total freedom is unacceptable, and tyranny reins. In the V5 anarch book (whether that’s canon or not I’ll let the ST decides because it’s basically been halted because of dramz) outlines that there are two factions of the movement - the Anarchs/Unbound and the Movement. The Movement is the more radical, destroy everything bunch; the Anarchs/Unbound CAN co-exist with the Camarilla, even though they hate it.
This. The Anarchs in VTM are not meant to follow a modern, “real” system of Anarchism. Trust me, I was loosely involved in an Anarch collective and in that they had leaders and rules. Total anarchism can’t work in MY opinion, someone needs to tell people to do stuff or nothing gets done. In some collectives there are people “in charge” but it mainly relies upon everyone respecting everyone else and doing what they are suppose to do in order to “pull their weight.”
I have set in maaaaany a meeting with Anarchists where order was trying to be imposed because someone dropped the ball and half of the group would agree and the other half would be screaming about individualist freedom and how no one can tell anyone to do anything ever.
But that is a whoooole other tangent.
